Important Information about surgical mission.
FAMI on 10th year is specializing in surgical mission in joint partnership with local medical groups. Surgical Missions coordinates with local non-government organizations and non-profit foundations at a designated charity hospital.  These hospitals normally have basic operating room equipment. Patients are pre-screened with the local hospital with our medical team partner who also does postoperative care. The volunteers pay travel expenses and part of their lodging to the mission. Local sponsors or FAMI normally pays for food, local transportation and part of the lodging.  FAMI obtains Philippine government requirements for physician temporary permit to practice in country. After 2008, FAMI missions are limited to surgical volunteers with specific and essential skills.
