Niles D. Perlas, CRNA, Chairman, founded FAMI in 1999 to help the poor in the Philippines
. Founded and Managed Goldie Brangman, Anesthesia Review Course in
New York City from 1990 to 1994. Niles has also been Chief CRNA at two major hospitals in
Manhattan for the past 20 years. Together with her husband, Niles has donated in number of projects for the including, artesan well in her
province of
Nueva Ecija at Pias, General Tinio through PEACE.
Niles has also served as a board member for two years “Gift of Life.”

University . Nick collects 19th century American Art and enjoys to trading puts and calls. He is also the founder of of Anesthesia Providers in the Tri-State area.

Leus Perlas, Administrator since FAMI inception. Leus performs all operational management and logistical coordination of FAMI and mission. He works as a VP in a real estate investment company in
New York for the past 20 years and previously in other management position at Hotel Intercontinental and Mitsubishi. Together with Niles and daughter Kristine Elizabeth they are currently working and living in
Manhattan . Leus has served as director and the board in a number companies and non-profit organization.

Reynaldo Gamboa Alejandro (RIP 2009) was a New York-based Manila-born writer and book author. He has written 40 books including the award-winning LAMESA, ADOBO BOOK, and SAYAW. A multi-awarded dancer, choreographer and culinary expert, he has lectured in the United States and Europe. He is the communications director of FAMI and the president of KCC Innovations, Inc. Reynaldo Alejandro, Board 2000-2004. Ronnie passed away August 2009 in New York City.

Lestrino C. Baquiran, MD, Internist and cardiologist with a private practice located in Central Park West. He is on the attending staff at

Hospital . Dr. Baquiran graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. He has been President of the Philippine Economic and Cultural Endowment (PEACE-USA). He is a Board Member from 2004-2008. He received the FAMI Humanitarian Award in 2005

James Beckman, MD, has been a supporter and adviser since its early days and has served the board on 2001 to 2008. Jim is an attending anesthesiologist at Hospital for Special Surgery. He was second group volunteers in 2000 and 2001.

Lindale, Texas in 1998. She is active in other community programs. |

Nelson Co, MD, CRNA is a founding member of FAMI in 1999. Nelson performs cataract surgical mission for over ten years and is active in

| Sony Mabaquiao RN, twenty eight (28) years of varied work experience as a registered nurse, in a multinational/cross-cultural settings such as the Philippines-Asia , Libya, North Africa/ Riyadh,Saudi Arabia - Middle East and New York, USA. Seventeen (17) years of solid critical care nurse experience extensively in Cardiothoracic ICU/ Open Heart Recovery Room Unit. Nine (9) years of teaching experience as a BLS/ACLS instructor under American Heart Association (AHA) NYC, Affiliate Volunteer member of Aloha Medical Mission for six years and Filipino American Medical Inc. (FAMI) for three years. Sony has served as FAMI Secretary from 2006 to 2008. |

City class of 1967. Betty has 10 years cardiovascular experience before switching to orthopedics. She is presently working at the Hospital for Special Surgery Ambulatory Post Anesthesia Care Unit as CN II. She was voted into the FAMI board in 2007. She was joined by her daughter Julie, also an RN in the 2008 FAMI mission.

| Maria Teresa Victoria "Maite" Santos (RIP 2008) called herself FAMI's enforcer. Since 2002, she tangled every year with the Philippine bureaucracy to lay the groundwork for the annual FAMI Missions. For months in advance, she worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that things went smoothly: from the team's temporary PRC licenses, to their Bureau of Food & Drugs and Customs clearances, to the hotel and travel arrangements for the post-mission R&R. She loved what she did and the people she worked with loved her too. |

Josee Perlas Mayo (RIP 2007) was a supporter of FAMI since its foundation. She was always available to help FAMI with government agencies to overcome “red tape” in its missions this especially true in the early missions of FAMI. Josee monitored every mission from the beginning to end, she help secure mission sites with military assistance through her network of friends. She was a supporter of the Philippine’s army soldiers foundation and wife of Lt General Victor Mayo (Ret) PMA 66. Josee graduated from
Assumption
College and founded Philippine Modeling Academy in early 60.
